Eucalyptus globulus has a fresh, penetrating scent. It contains a high percentage of the constituent eucalyptol, a key ingredient in many mouth rinses. Applied topically, it is often used to support the respiratory system* and to soothe muscles after exercise. Eucalyptus Globulus has an approximate ORAC of 24,157 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
The most famous or highly used of the Eucalyptus plants, Eucalyptus Globulus is commonly known as Blue Gum Oil or simply Eucalyptus. It is known to provide support for a healthy respiratory system and calm muscles after exercise. Originally it comes from Australia, however it is also grows in China, Brazil, Ecuador and Corsica.
The E. globulos tree is also known as fever tree, stringy bark tree or blue gum tree depending where the tree is located in the world.
Eucalyptus Globulus is often found in vapor rubs, liniments and cough drops. The oil has a very herbaceous scent with soft woody undertones. It’s also a wonderful air cleanser.
