This is a guest post by Melissa Dargon. Thank you Melissa!
Hubby and I recently went to a mall and we were drawn into a popular store where they sell anything and everything scented.
I couldn’t find anything remotely pronounceable, so we didn’t end up buying anything. But my husband did fall in love with a hand scrub that was at the little washing station. So I decided to make it myself – and use essential oils for a natural alternative!
I don’t think he reads this page, but just in case he is, please act surprised on Father’s day honey!
Here is the homemade hand scrub recipe I am going to make for him
- 2 cup softened coconut oil
- 1 cup castile soap
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 10 drops essential oil
I am going to use almond Castile soap because it is what I have on hand and orange essential oil. This will make it fragrant but not feminine.
The easiest way to mix this is with a whisk or hand mixer (on low) This will remove any lumps of sugar and make a nice even consistency.
What about you?
What kinds of lotions or bath products have you made using essential oils?
