Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood (Santalum paniculatum) has a rich, sweet, warm, and woody aroma that is sensual and romantic. The S. paniculatum tree is native to and found only on the island of Hawaii, where Young Living has a partner farm that practices sustainable reforestation farming management principles. Used traditionally as incense in religious ceremonies and for meditation, this oil is uplifting and relaxing. It is valued in skin care for its moisturizing and normalizing properties.
Oh honey, this oil is my jam. I saved up my ER points to “pay” for this oil. It smells so soft and dreamy. If you like a more “musky” type aroma versus floral, this is right up your alley.
Sandalwood is also an amazing oil for its therapeutic qualities. It’s an ancient tree… it was mentioned several times throughout the Bible. Sandalwood essential oil is high in a chemical constituent called sesquiterpenes, which stimulates the pineal gland in the brain. This promotes deep relaxation, particularly for the nervous system. It’s great for prayer and meditation.
Sandalwood is also wonderful for the skin. It’s in several of Young Living’s beauty products as a result. I know that Mary Young likes to use this as one of the oils she uses on her face.
I personally like to add a drop in my shampoo or lotion. I also love to diffuse in the evening for relaxation. I like Michael to wear this oil with Orange as a natural cologne.
